Place has been a fixture in downtown San Buenaventura for almost twenty
years. It’s unique menu and eclectic
atmosphere offers something for everyone ...hot pita sandwiches,
fresh, abundant salads, homemade soups, and the best turkey burger
you’ll ever
eat, offered with a variety of toppings. Everything is prepared fresh
and to order ...having it your way is not just a slogan at Franky’s,
it’s a philosophy.
The colorful mural created by young artist Klay Kidd wraps it’s way around the entire restaurant and showcases the frog motif inspired by their logo of two dancing frogs. It’s an unusual and fun recreation of the restaurant itself ...every character in the mural represents a real person ...customers and employees ...see if you can locate the one and only non-frog character in the mural and we’ll spring for a cup of our fresh brewed coffee supplied by the Santa Barbara Roasting company and fresh ground for every perfect pot.
The crew is ready and eager to serve you. Most have been there almost as long as the restaurant itself. You’ll recognize them by their service, not their uniforms, as there are no uniforms required. Every year we take a vote and since it’s not always easy to teach and old dog new tricks, we can’t seem to give up our individuality ...so look for the little black apron and you’ll find us.
The kitchen staff takes pride in their creativity and ability to provide esthetically pleasing and tasty dishes for all palates. The open kitchen allows you to see and communicate with those individual who prepare your meal. They’re not adverse to sharing recipes either so feel free to ask.
The brick walls of the almost century old building are graced with the work of local artists. The shows change every four to six weeks and all art is available for sale by the artist. Watercolors, oils, photographs and sculpture are available for viewing throughout the year ...you never know what you might find so come in and discover for yourself what our local artists are showcasing.
